The Rotary Club of Reading Abbey held a successful Golf Day at Calcot Golf Club on the 5th July 2017, raising £2,430.91 for Dingley’s Promise.
Corporate teams joined the day, in what was one of the hottest of the summer, round the 18 hole course, rated as one of the top six courses in Berkshire. All those present were able to cool off in the bar afterwards and enjoyed a superb meal provided by the club. Raffle tickets and programmes contributed towards the fundraising, which saw 70% of the funds raised given to Dingley’s Promise. The other 10% of funds raised went to International Rotary Charity and 20% to End Polio.
Catherine McLeod MBE, Chief Executive for Dingley’s Promise was presented with the cheque on the 7th September, by President Colin Maclean. Catherine said ‘we are delighted that the Rotary Club of Reading Abbey continue to recognise the importance of the work we do. Such fundraising support from local community groups is vital, and ensures that our Centres can give the best start to children with special educational needs and disabilities in our local areas. We cannot thank them enough for their continued support.’
