Support from The Lions Club of Henley-on-Thames

May 09, 2018

We were delighted to welcome seven members of Lions International at our Reading Centre to see the children playing on our newly purchased equipment.  With their generous support, we have been fortunate enough to purchase two large pieces that will provide enormous benefits to the children in our care.

CarlaoutsideThe Climb and Crawl introduces children to the new skills of navigating stairs and ramps, helping with co-ordination, balance and movement.  Carla was only too happy to expertly demonstrate the piece of equipment to our guests!  Having only just started walking last year, Carla was able to show just how far she had come and how useful the equipment was for continual practise.

Outside in the garden, we introduced the Lions Club members to Nisanur who loves to play with the large Ball Tower.  This large game offers a great opportunity for repetitive play and motor skills development.  Nisanur could have played this with this all day, wearing the biggest grin of all, much to delight of our guests.

We were presented with a cheque for £1,648.82 to cover the cost of both pieces of equipment and are very thankful to The Lions Club of Henley-on-Thames for their support.  We look forward to keeping in touch with members and sharing updates about our work here in Reading.

We wish to thank Dave Murray for the use of the photographs, which have really captured the day!
