We scooped Charity of the Year!

February 18, 2018

We are delighted and proud to announce that Dingley’s Promise won Charity of the Year at the Thames Valley Business and Community Awards!

We attended the sell-out gala event at The Macdonald Berystede Hotel & Spa, Ascot on 31st January 2018 to see the announcements of winners across 13 categories.  We had tough competition from some incredible charities and were over the moon to have won in the Charity of the Year category.

Among the winners were a host of well-respected individuals who have worked tirelessly, putting their heart and soul into making their industry better.  We understand that the standard of entrants was particularly high, with 88 applicants shortlisted from 300 nominations!

Christina Briggs, former Director of External Affairs at Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce was part of the judging panel and said: “Judging this year’s awards was tough. Every entry was of a very high standard and each one was unique which made the decision harder. I’m very proud of the quality of businesses that we have in this region and these awards give them the true recognition that they deserve.”

Catherine McLeod MBE, Chief Executive attended the gala evening along with Trustee, Nick Richards, our new patrons Chris and Naomi Khoo and some key members of staff.  Treated to entertainment by one of Europe’s best Tina Turner impersonators; Tiny Tina Turner and her six piece band and hosted by local Business Woman of 2017; Mary Flavell, the evening was a huge success, raising nearly £15,000 for local charities Sue Ryder, Cherishers and Prostate Cancer UK.

Catherine McLeod MBE noted “We were so surprised to win the award, as we have always focused on the west of Berkshire and this is the first time we have been recognised across the whole area.  We would love to increase the number of families we can reach by spreading some of Dingley’s ‘promise’ to the east of Berkshire, and this has certainly encouraged us to focus on doing that! As we said on the night, thank you to every family who has trusted us with their children over the past 35 years. We will always do everything we can to give every child the very best start.”

We now look forward to an exciting year ahead as Charity Partner with The Great British Expo’s Ltd.
